Data Retention and Deletion
How long Aeomatic keeps operational data and evidence, and how merchants can request deletion.
Last updated: August 17, 2026
Aeomatic preserves enough evidence to make AI visibility findings inspectable while limiting how long raw and customer-linked data remains necessary. Retention depends on the type of data, the merchant's subscription and instructions, and legal or security requirements.
Retention by data category
- Raw provider payloads: normally retained for up to 30 days. We may retain a payload longer when needed to investigate an active incident, resolve a merchant dispute, or meet a legal obligation.
- Normalized visibility evidence: extracted mentions, citations, timestamps, confidence inputs, run history, and experiment outcomes may remain for the merchant's plan history period and while the account is active. These records make past recommendations and changes auditable.
- Catalog and publication records: current catalog projections, proposed changes, approvals, before-and-after field values, Shopify read-back results, and rollback records remain while needed to operate the installed app, preserve the intervention ledger, or resolve publication issues.
- Analytics and order attribution: storefront events and linked commerce records remain while needed to calculate the merchant's configured outcome windows and historical reporting, subject to Shopify customer privacy requests.
- Account, billing, audit, and security records: retained while the account is active and afterward where reasonably necessary for payment, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, security, tax, accounting, or legal compliance.
- Backups: deleted production data may remain temporarily in restricted backups until those backups age out through the normal rotation process. Backups are used for disaster recovery rather than ordinary product access.
Deletion events
Deletion may begin when:
- Shopify sends a verified customer-redaction or shop-redaction webhook;
- a merchant requests deletion through support;
- the app is uninstalled and the applicable Shopify retention period or operational need ends;
- a record reaches its configured retention limit.
Uninstalling immediately revokes normal app access and stops new merchant activity. Some records may remain briefly to support reinstall, billing reconciliation, fraud prevention, or legal obligations. A verified Shopify shop-redaction request removes the tenant and its linked product data from the active system, except information we must retain by law or for security.
Customer data requests
Shopify merchants should use Shopify's customer privacy workflow when a request concerns their customer. Aeomatic receives Shopify's mandatory request and redaction notifications and acts on linked order and tracking data. Customers may also contact the merchant that controls the store.
Request deletion or ask a question
Email hello@aeomatic.io with the Shopify store domain and the nature of the request. Do not send passwords, access tokens, or unnecessary customer data. We may ask for verification before disclosing or deleting information.
